About the Course
Purpose of the qualification
It is intended for personnel in electrical contracting companies that have responsibility for maintenance of electrical equipment to comply with Electricity at Work Regulation (1989).
What does this qualification cover?
The skills and knowledge required to carry out the in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment. This Award has one unit which covers: statutory and non-statutory requirements, electrical units, equipment construction; inspection and testing theory, practical inspection and testing of equipment and completion of documentation. The award follows the Industry recognised IET (IEE) Code of Practice published by the Institution of Engineering and Technology. It provides a facility for individuals to develop and/or enhance their knowledge and skills in order they can inspect electrical equipment which is ‘in-service’.
