About the Course
This EAL accredited course is designed for individuals where the candidate requires access or to work in the proximity of High Voltage Electrical Equipment. Over 80% of all disruptive failures in HV substations can be traced back to partial discharge (PD). This course teaches the principles of PD and how to monitor it.
Course content:
Classroom - Partial Discharge Theory
Basic understanding of why PD occurs
How to detect PD in HV assets
Type of PD monitoring equipment and key features to be aware of
Practical element - Monitoring for Partial Discharge in a substation
This course is designed for individuals who will be required to work in the proximity of High Voltage Electrial Equipment. The Candidate may be either electrically trained or non-electrical. The course will have a theory assessment. The theoretical element will be an online exam accessible through our IT Suite.
